Book your private lessons with one of our knowledgeable staff today! We currently have 3 levels of instruction. Level 1 requires a basic level of competence by our staff. Level 2 instructors have advanced skills or certifications, as such they merit higher pay. Level 3 are our most advanced instructors.

Private climbing lessons will provide the direction, structure, and content to refine your climbing skills. Private lessons can be based on any of our regular lessons listed below. Lessons can also be on customized topics ranging from training and stretching to advanced movement techniques. If you plan on learning to lead climb in your private lesson you need to be proficient at top-rope belaying first, and the private lesson will take at least 2 hours so be sure to schedule two lessons back to back.

Learn a new climbing skill or improve your skills by reserving time for a private lesson. Belay tool rental included, harness and climbing shoes NOT included. Open to all ages. Schedule at least 48 hours in advance.

Note: If you are looking to learn how to belay or lead belay you must have at least two people in your private lesson. Please allow a minimum of 1 hour when booking a top rope belay lesson and please allow a minimum of 2 hours when booking a sport lead lesson.

Pricing is for private lessons only. Climbers must book and pay for a Day Pass if they wish to climb after the lesson.

Basic Top Rope Skills

This beginner lesson is designed as an introduction to learning the ropes. The lesson covers knot tying, belaying, rope management skills, the use of technical equipment and climbing commands. Emphasis is placed on the skills needed to belay in a controlled environment.

Climbing 101: Intro to Climbing

Completely new to climbing? Climbing 101 is a one-hour session that will introduce you to the world of climbing and its concepts. The goal is to help you get comfortable with the language and vocabulary of the sport, as well as a basic library of techniques which will give you the tools to progress as you continue in this new sport. 10-20 minutes of the class will be dedicated to group instruction, and the rest of the time will be yours to climb and explore the facility while having a knowledgeable instructor with you as a resource.

Climbing 201: Intermediate Technique

This is two-hour lesson is intended for those who have been climbing for a while and are looking to step up to the next level. Many climbers experience a “plateau” a few months after starting the sport, often around the V2/V3 grade range. This class is designed to help you push through that plateau and continue your uphill momentum. Focus is placed on technique, body positioning, and footwork, with a more in-depth discussion of how to use specific holds and features when you are climbing. Two months of climbing experience is recommended, but not required.

Sport Lead

Learn to climb on the sharp end. If your only experiences include top rope climbing and bouldering, but you’re ready for what’s next, this is the course for you. This lesson will introduce the climber to leading sport routes. Topics include the art of controlled and efficient lead belaying, how to clip the rope into protection as you ascend, lead climbing techniques, the art of falling and how to catch a fall.

Please allow a minimum of 2 hours when booking a lead climbing and/or belay lesson.

All participants must sign our Liability Waiver and Rules Agreement.
