About the Job:
Vertical Endeavors operates some of the largest indoor climbing facilities in the nation with multiple locations throughout in Minnesota and Illinois. People of all ages and abilities can challenge themselves, train, and have fun climbing. Additional programming for kids and adults includes group events, parties, climbing teams, camps, outdoor adventures, fitness, yoga, and more.
We are currently seeking a Coordinator for the Yoga & Fitness programs at the Glendale Heights Facility. They will lead and manage a team of independently contracted instructors while administrating the various programs, classes, and clientele. The person who meets the requirements for this position will assist, promote, and increase the presence of the yoga, fitness, and movement programming at all our Illinois facility.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate, hard-working, and well-organized professional with the ability to prioritize a variety of tasks. They must be self-motivated, driven, and have teaching experience in the area of yoga and fitness. Additionally, they will be working with other staff in building and maintaining relationships with the local community in the areas of civic support, social responsibility, and environmental awareness.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide great customer service
- Maintain a healthy relationship with customers, community, and staff
- Guide thoughtfully curated yoga, fitness, and/or movement programs and classes
- Hire and manage a staff of independent contracted instructors and workshop collaborators
- Manage the Independent Contractor Agreements with instructors
- Communicate with staff, instructors, instructor prospects, marketing, management, collaborators, etc.
- Maintain and update a Yoga, & Fitness Instructor’s Manual
- Maintain program procedurals (Instructor management, payroll compilation, corporate policies, facility operation, participant experience, etc.)
- Identify and monitor key metrics for each program
- Create an ongoing, diverse, and engaging class schedule
- Create and update class formats, sequencing, instruction parameters, etc.
- Organizing Team Building activities for staff, clients, and programs
- Organize and direct photoshoots, collaborate with the VE Marketing Team, and procure local industry photographers when applicable
- Order and maintain the necessary studio inventory, equipment, and supplies
- Studio design, management, maintenance, schedule, and refinement
- Procure local sponsorship to support programs and specialty events
- Identify and coordinate programming and participation in community-oriented events
- Meet with local companies to create community collaboration efforts
- Contribute blog submissions for the VE Website as needed
- Communicate with Facility Managers and the Marketing Department to create and maintain signage, promotional material, and Social Media content
- Conduct and prepare regular programs analysis
- Train, audit, and evaluate staff on program facilitation and expectations
- Maintain a database of customer, instructor, vendor, and community contacts
- Assist with daily front counter operations as necessary. Identify potential customers and their needs through new programs and outreach
- Attend expos to develop and maintain contact with potential clients, instructors, and professional bodies
Experience and Qualifications:
- Yoga and Fitness training
- CPR/AED certification
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Display sound judgment and preserve confidentiality
- Lead and manage staff in a constructive manner; act as liaison between departments and facilities
- Able to work both in a team setting and to be self-sufficient
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Customer service and promotional experience
- Climbing experience preferred
Expectations:
- 40-45 Hours per week
- Weekday, evening, and weekend availability
- Must display professionalism and integrity
- Must pass a Criminal Background Check
- Must provide current driver’s license and vehicle insurance
- Available to work special events, competitions, sales events, etc.
