Full Time Manager Position

Vertical Endeavors is committed to leveraging its rich history of thoughtful innovation in the indoor rock climbing industry to make rock climbing accessible, educational, challenging, and fun for new and veteran climbers alike. Shift Managers lead their team of front counter staff, climbing instructors, coaching staff, and group facilitators as they oversee the risk management, sales, administrative, and customer service-aspects of daily operations.  Applicants should be someone who can lead by example, discern appropriate situational responses to critical issues that may arise, and be excited about sharing their love of climbing with everyone who comes into a Vertical Endeavors’ climbing facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the facility and its operations
  • Direct, manage and train staff
  • Control inventory and perform monthly physical inventory counts
  • Oversee programs and make sure programs are marketed properly
  • Control expenses and maintain profitability
  • Make sure facility inspections are performed on a regular and timely basis
  • Make sure the facility is kept in good condition and maintain its cleanliness
  • Set a good example for the staff, promote team morale
  • Provide excellent customer service and floor supervision
  • Maintain and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Manage the safety and security of the facility
  • Maintaining and documenting all staff training
  • Problem-solving, handling unusual circumstances including customer complaints
  • Climbing equipment sales
  • Processing and reporting daily facility information

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must have a passion and dedication to Customer Service
  • Strong commitment to leading by example and showing initiative
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to facilitate a wide variety of group climbing events and workshops ranging from birthday parties to technical workshops – prior experience preferred
  • Well organized with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and make decisions
  • Ability to lead and manage staff in a team setting
  • Dedication to professionalism
  • Ability to work in high traffic facility
  • Knowledge of Climbing Equipment Sales preferred
  • 4+ years rock climbing experience
  • Previous Management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Current drivers license and vehicle insurance required

Expectations

  • 40 hrs per week required
  • Evening and weekend availability required
