10 Challenges For Your Next Session!

1 – Flash Challenge – No second tries. Warm up, when you are feeling fresh start the flash challenge. One try, and one try only. Keep track of your sends and then find your average v-score for the session! Compare to past performances to see progression. A great way to train for upcoming competitions! Pro-tip vary the walls and styles to keep you engaged and on your toes!

2 – Project Challenge – Pick 3 climbs at or above your current limit. Warm up thoroughly, and spend 30 minutes working only these climbs. When you fall, don’t move onto something new, try to really understand why you fell, and work to progress. Even if it’s just on a single move.

3 – Anti-Style Challenge – Pick a wall angle, hold type, or setting style you suck at, try and complete 10 climbs of this style. Example, suck at slopers? Find 10 sloper climbs, and try to send them all!

4 – Hover Challenge – Climb super slow like a sloth, before you can grab the next hold, hover your hand above it for 5 seconds. Try to complete 10 climbs like this.

5 – Foot Cut Challenge – This one works better on steep walls, every move you make, purposely cut your feet and placing them back on the wall. Great for building strength in your core and for unexpected foot cuts.

6 – Smear Challenge – This one works best on slab, vertical, and slightly overhanging walls. No foot holds allowed, smear your feet on the wall and send! Try to do 10 different climbs in this style. Gain confidence in your feet and smearing abilities.

7 – As Few Holds as Possible Challenge – This one works great with a group of people, see who can climb the route with as few holds as possible. Hands and feet both count towards holds used!

8 – Horse – Just like the basketball game. Take turns playing horse on routes, first person to get all the letters of Horse loses!

9 – Back to Back Challenge – This is a volume based challenge, see how many routes you can do back to back. Bonus points if you can climb up and then down climb into another. If you are on a rope or boulder you can also see how many times up and down you can climb on one single route.

10 – Street Shoe Challenge – Climbing shoes help a lot, see how hard you can climb in your street shoes! This is going to put a lot more weight into your arms and make it tougher to ascend!
