BSA Troop 346

With over 100 guys in our Boy Scout troop we are often challenged to find adventures that can accommodate a significant number.  VE St Paul proved itself by guiding 30 of our guys through their Climbing Merit Badge in one Saturday...a tremedous feat, thanks again!  You bent over backwards to make us feel important and our guides Jamie and Jordan struck the perfect balance between discipline and fun (an art a Boy Scout leader can really appreciate).

When our guys expressed a desire to go on a climbing campout, we found the VEGA program the right fit.  40 boys and 10 dads met our VE guides at Taylor Falls where we found all the equipment we needed and five ropes set up ready for us to go (two, three hour climbing session with 20 boys each worked perfect).  Again, Jamie handled the guys great.

I think some of our boys found a new love in climbing and overall our troop thought it was a great campout.  Look for us to be back next year.

Olivia’s 8th Birthday Party:
Mom, Laurel Ley - Shoreview, MN

We all had a great time and the kids had an absolute blast. Christina was an awesome instructor- she was really great with the kids. The girls climbed higher than they ever thought they could and did things they didn’t think they could do. The kids are all excited about coming back and trying camps, and every girl said she wants to have her party at Vertical Endeavors. We are all definitely going to come back. The staff made the whole party experience awesome!

Danny’s 6th Birthday:
Mom, Joanna Barrett – St. Paul, MN

We had a young group of 6-year olds and parents. One mom, who had never climbed before, was very nervous about the whole experience at first and ended up having a great time. The instructor did really well with the kids and parents alike. It was good to see kids who were scared of heights try climbing and love it. One little boy was so scared in the beginning, and as the afternoon progressed, he got more and more confident.
I did my birthday at Vertical Endeavors a while ago for the adults and I was really surprised at all the Auto Belays. It was nice because everyone could climb at once and not have to wait for someone to belay them. It made for a great evening - better than dinner and drinks!!

Joyce Vogt –
Basic Safety Lesson

It was a day of fun and exercise, and for me that is a critical combination. The facility is great and we felt the instructor really went at our pace. The class guided us through the basics most people skip over when they start off climbing. I felt the class prepared me in a much more formal way for demands the sport would have on me physically and mentally. I thought of climbing more as a professional sport rather than just a recreation.
